Local Coal Aston band Bourgeois Zoo staged a concert in the Village Hall on February 5 to raise funds in aid of the tsunami disaster appeal. The event was well-attended and the audience was entertained with a wide range of material from traditional folk to Beatles covers. At the end of the evening it was announced that £350 had been raised for the disaster appeal.
Bourgeois Zoo are renowned for tight vocal harmony and specialise in fast and complex Celtic-inspired medleys, which have become their trademark. Driving rhythms provided by Andy on bass and Pete on guitar, the combination of Dave's accordion and Chris on banjo/mando-cello & whistles gives a really exciting sound which is ideal for dancing.
